Art Conservation of The Founder Members of Sir Bevil Grenville's Regiment, Sealed Knot
This week, we have a specialist conservator onsite, who will be working on our The Founder Members of Sir Bevil Grenville’s Regiment, Sealed Knot, a Bye Tryne of Artillery by Robert Oskar Lenkiewicz (1941–2002)
The painting was purchased by Bude-Stratton Town Council in the 1980’s and if you haven’t been to visit us and seen it, it measures at 147cm by 250cm, you can’t miss it!
The importance of conserving historical pieces such as this is an exciting process, one which we are honoured to be able to do onsite for the duration of this week. Due to the size of the painting, part of the Willoughby Gallery has been closed off for the work to take place. The gallery will be fully open by the weekend and the painting rightfully positioned back on the wall so that it can be appreciated once again.
Free entry to The Castle, 7 days a week from 10am until 4pm.
