Join in the Fun!

As we prepare to celebrate our Christmas Fayre, we invite you and your friends and family to join us in a day of fun, entertainment, community and festivities.

On Sunday 1st December 2024, The Castle Heritage Centre will be joining with The Parkhouse Community Centre to come together and enjoy a day of festivities to support our local community.

Here’s what to expect this year………

 
 

The Castle Heritage Centre

The whole centre will be a hive of festive activity, all free to participate in and no booking required, so get the date in your diary and get ready for a festive treat!

  • Free Magic Show
  • Face Painting all day with Claire Taylor
  • Kid’s Festive Crafting stations
  • Santa’s Grotto, with a free decoration to craft
  • Fionnuala Kirby playing Celtic harp music in The Willoughby Gallery.
  • Betty Bluebird singing vintage festive tunes in the Willoughby Gallery

The Parkhouse Centre

Over 50 artisan stalls will be based inside all the rooms and outside the front foyers.

Browse each of the rooms whilst you are entertained with our programme of free entertainment (to be announced later on).

DJ Andy King will be back to get you in the festive mood and The Outside Inn will on hand to make sure that everyone is fed and watered, with a large selection of food and drinks.

More Harmony Choir will be singing in the Ivor Potter Hall at 11am. They are a Women’s a cappella singing group who pride themselves on creating a friendly, fun and supportive atmosphere that allows its members to flourish.  

The Barrel Morris Dancers will be performing at 3pm and we have a number of workshops happening in Room 4 throughout the day.

Remember entry is free for the whole day and with our selection of local artisans there will be opportunities to samples some of the wares on sale!

Festive Workshops

Throughout the day we will have a selection of Festive Workshops throughout both venues.

At The Parkhouse we have already confirmed a Festive Macrame Workshop with Chris Hayes from Knotty of Bude. This workshop is in Room 4, cost ÂĢ20 (includes all materials and equipment) and is from 11am until 1pm. If you are interested in booking a place, please email Chris on: chrishayesmail@gmail.com.

 

Meet The Stall Holders

Here at Bude’s Christmas fayre, we have over 50 local artisan stall holders spread over the whole of the Parkhouse Centre, using each room so you can browse and explore all day.

From delicious food and drink treats to some of the best quality craftsmanship in the South West. You can be sure to know that you are buying from local traders and supporting our local community this festive season.

With festive entertainment on hand all day and onsite food and drink, we have you covered for a full day of free entertainment.

Food and Drink throughout the Day

Cafe Limelight is on the first floor of The Castle. Open every day from 10am until 3.00pm for our full menu and until 3:45pm for drinks and cakes.

We cater for common dietary requirements – just ask one of our staff who will be happy to assist you in making your choice.

Festive Menu – Keep an eye out for our festive menu available throughout December, where we look to tempt your taste buds with some delicious treats!

Our dog friendly conservatory overlooks Summerleaze Beach’s sand dunes alongside the popular Bude Canal with views out towards the sea and the infamous Barrel Rock.

We also have a cosy gift shop with local interest books, sustainable toys and local artisan crafted gifts, along with a selection of artwork. We also have gift vouchers for sale.

Our cafe is doggy friendly too!

The Outside Inn will be on hand throughout the day at The Parkhouse Centre to serve delicious bakes and treats, along with a fully licensed bar and hot drinks.
