A new exhibition in the Community Showcase Cabinet opens this coming Wednesday at The Castle, Bude.
Bude received its first lifeboat in 1837, presented by King William IV and named the Royal Bude Lifeboat. This year, the RNLI will celebrate its 200th anniversary. Bude is proud of its lifesaving history, and the RNLI is at the heart of the community. Many families have been involved with the Bude lifeboat over generations, not just as crew, but also helping to raise vital funds and being part of the committee.
Weathering the Storm, is a new community showcase exhibition, featuring documents and artefacts that celebrate Budeβs history with the RNLI.
This exhibition will run daily from 10am with free entry and can be found on the Ground Floor of The Castle Heritage Centre.
