Visit our stunning Café Limelight, which arguably offers the best café views in Bude.
Our Onsite Café
We’re open daily from 10am until 3.00pm for our lunch menu and until 3:45pm for drinks and cakes. We offer a delicious selection of cakes and bakes as well as light refreshments and savoury lunches. We cater for common dietary requirements – just ask one of our staff who will be happy to assist you in making your choice.

Our conservatory overlooks Summerleaze Beach’s sand dunes alongside the popular Bude Canal with views out towards the sea and the infamous Barrel Rock. Our outside decked area is open throughout the year and is perfect for enjoying a cream tea in the sunshine. We are dog -friendly, with the exception of a ‘Dog-Free’ Monday and The Willoughby Gallery, which is a ‘dog-free’ zone (with the exception of coated assistance dogs).
We also offer a limited takeaway menu, please ask at the counter. We’re proud to say that all our packaging is environmentally and marine friendly. Everything we offer is single use plastic free and we are a refill station for water and offer a discount for those using their own re-usable coffee cups. We work hard to try and source our ingredients in non-plastic containers in order to reduce our use of plastic even further. Where possible we recycle everything we can.
High Teas & Cream Teas
Cream or Jam on top? We serve Cream Teas daily, served for one or more people, why not sit back and enjoy the scenery with this daily treat.
Our High Teas are back and we are delighted to offer this treat for two or more with a beautiful selection of delicious sweet and savoury treats. We cater for allergies and food intolerances, best to speak to the team as we have lots of options for you to choose from. High teas need to be booked in advance, so email or leave us a message and we will get back to you.
Alternatively, why not spoil your family with a voucher as the perfect gift? Catering Private Meetings & Lunches
We are the perfect place for business meetings, group gatherings and a family get together whether large or small. For those seeking a more private space, our individual gallery rooms are available to hire and we can provide beverages and refreshments or a full buffet. Please contact us by calling 01288 357305 or emailing email: thecastle@bude-stratton.gov.uk or staylor@bude-stratton.gov.uk to discuss your requirements or request our buffet menus. Important Notice: If you are ringing and leaving a message, please leave a contact number for our team to call you back. The phone may go straight to answer phone during the day due to our staff being busy in the café, but the messages are checked both morning and evening.
The Willoughby Gallery seats up to 60 guests and The Blanchminster Gallery can seat 24 guests. Both rooms offer a beautiful setting with stunning views looking out over the grounds.
Castle Gift Shop

Stocking a wealth of Heritage related gifts, branded goodies and local artisan crafts. You’ll be sure to find something to cherish the memory of your visit to us.
From greeting cards, books, local craft gems and a variety of books, there is a lot to pack in the shop. Come and browse the shelves to find something that would make a perfect gift.
Our children’s section has books and toys, made from sustainable materials. We support a ‘no single use plastics’ policy on all our merchandise. We also have a stock of fabulous jewellery, as well as artwork on our cafe walls. Not to mention the artwork and crafts available in our two gallery spaces.
