Visit our stunning Café Limelight, which arguably offers the best café views in Bude.
Our Onsite Café
We’re open daily from 10am until 3pm for our lunch menu and until 3:45pm for drinks and cakes. We offer a delicious selection of cakes and bakes as well as light refreshments and savory lunches. We cater for common dietary requirements – just ask one of our staff who will be happy to assist you in making your choice.

Our dog friendly conservatory overlooks Summerleaze Beach’s sand dunes alongside the popular Bude Canal with views out towards the sea and the infamous Barrel Rock. Our outside decked area is open throughout the year and is perfect for enjoying a cream tea in the sunshine.
We also offer a limited takeaway menu, please ask at the counter. We’re proud to say that all our packaging is environmentally and marine friendly. Everything we offer is single use plastic free and we are a refill station for water and offer a discount for those using their own re-usable coffee cups. We work hard to try and source our ingredients in non-plastic containers in order to reduce our use of plastic even further. Where possible we recycle everything we can.

Cream or Jam on top? We also serve Cream Teas daily, served for one or more people, why not sit back and enjoy the scenery with this daily treat.
We haven’t finished there – fancy treating yourself or loved ones to a delectable Afternoon Tea? Indulge yourselves and take the time to enjoy good company, sandwiches, cakes and your choice of tea served in bone China tableware, you can enjoy your own afternoon tea. Please note that we need 24 hours notice to order in resources, so we cannot take bookings on the day.
Alternatively, why not spoil your family with a voucher as the perfect gift? These can be purchased as Cream Tea, Afternoon Tea and £5, £10 & £20 denominations in the Cafe, or you can call us on 01288 357300 to arrange for them to be sent to you. Gluten Free and Vegan options available.
Catering Private Meetings & Lunches
We are the perfect place for business meetings, group gatherings and a family get together whether large or small. For those seeking a more private space, our individual gallery rooms are available to hire and we can provide beverages and refreshments or a full buffet. Please contact us by calling 01288 357300 or emailing thecastle@bude-stratton.gov.uk to discuss your requirements or request our buffet menus.
The Willoughby Gallery seats up to 50 guests and The Blanchminster Room can seat 24 guests. Both rooms offer a beautiful setting with stunning views looking out over the grounds.
Limelight Gift Shop
Did you know that we have an onsite gift shop?
Stocking a wealth of Heritage related gifts, branded goodies and local artisan crafts. You’ll be sure to find something to cherish the memory of your visit to us.
From greeting cards, books, local craft gems and a variety of books, there is a lot to pack in the shop. Come and browse the shelves to find something that would make a perfect gift.
Our children’s section has books and toys, made from sustainable materials. We support a ‘no single use plastics’ policy on all our merchandise. We also have a stock of fabulous jewellery, as well as artwork on our cafe walls. Not to mention the artwork and crafts available in our two gallery spaces.
All purchases can be made in Café Limelight, so why not pop up and browse the shop whilst enjoying a fabulous hot drink, whilst you escape the autumnal weather! We’d love to see you……..
Gift Vouchers
T&Cs include:
- Only redeemable at Cafe Limelight and has no monetary value as well as cannot be exchanged for cash.
- They must be used in full, no change will be given.
- This voucher cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged.
- You must arrange a date for Afternoon Teas, the other vouchers can be used on your visit. However, it is advised to check we have cream teas in stock before arrival.
- They are usually valid for one year from purchase (Afternoon Tea is 6 months).
