Memory Lane Monday – Through The Lens

Memory Lane Mondays – Through the Lens
📸 Step back in time with Memory Lane Mondays as we explore Bude’s past Through the Lens of our historic photo archives. From busy streets to quiet coastal views, each image captures a piece of our town’s story.
This week’s photo is from Princes Street in town. We believe that Princes Street’s history is tied to Bude’s growth in the 19th and 20th centuries, with buildings like the one at No. 3, which became N T Keat’s hardware shop, initially housing a bootmaker in the late 1800s before Othello Terrace was demolished. This street became a commercial hub, evolving as the town expanded from its origins as a harbour and agricultural centre.
Did you know that we hold an extensive selection of photos and artefacts, just waiting to tell a story, here at The Heritage Centre. You can also view a sample of this at: https://www.cornishmemory.com/items/browse?search=Bude+Heritage+Centre
