This week’s object is a Carriage Lamp — which some of you guessed correctly. Carriage lamps evolved from simple candle holders to kerosene lamps, combining 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲, 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞, before being largely replaced by electric headlights — well done to everyone who recognised it!
